Wendy and Mary are a talented duo in songwriting as well as harmonizing. Their first LP, Out of the Fullness, (Birdwing BWR-2036), is a nice example of music designed to please the ear. Their tight harmony, soft acoustic accompaniment, and infectious melodies draw the listener toward the music and the message.

Particular highlights include: “Instant Breakfast,” a humorous song about the overnight Christianity expectation; “We Really Do Need Each Other,” a call for unity in the body; “Terra,” haunting tune with exceptionally well-wrought lyrics about the fallen earth; and “Wedding Prayer.” As on all the songs, the vocals are casual and the harmony is rich and full, but these songs seem to minister most effectively.
