Platinum recording artist and composer, pianist Chemayne Micallef was born June 18th in Toronto, Canada. Since her television debut at the age of six, she's won numerous piano competitions and scholarships. She began composing by age eight and at age fourteen, performed a one-hour solo special for TV. She completed her piano and theory exams with the Toronto Royal Conservatory of Music by age fifteen. In 1992, Chemayne "displayed her piano prowess live on television (CTV) to more than two million viewers, winning the talent competition at the Miss Canada Pageant" also receiving a scholarship from Baton Broadcasting. (Mike Beggs, Mississauga News, 2001) In 1993, she graduated with honours from the University of Toronto with a Bachelor of Music degree where she studied piano with Irina Kugucheva. In 1994, she earned her Bachelor of Education degree from McGill University in Montreal. Chemayne has taught both elementary and secondary instrumental and vocal music for local school boards in Ontario and Quebec.

In 2001, she released her debut solo international album on the Avalon Music label called "Christmas Piano," distributed by Universal Music. Five tracks from this album are featured in the soundtrack of the 2007 Paramount Vantage motion picture "Year of the Dog," produced by Brad Pitt. "Christmas Piano" was also featured on an episode of "A Channel Morning" - a Canadian talk show in Victoria, British Columbia which aired a special Christmas segment in December 2008 on CTVGlobemedia. In 2010, About.com (part of the New York Times) ranked Christmas Piano 7th in the Top 10 Classical Music Christmas CDs.

Meeting with critical acclaim and commercial success, Chemayne recorded her second solo album in 2002 entitled, "Piano Memories" which is now PLATINUM (CRIA). Also in 2002, she recorded her first classical album - a collection of Beethoven's Masterpieces with cello and violin, featuring her as soloist.

In 2003, she released “Simple Gifts” a solo album which contains three tracks composed by Chemayne: “Romance”, “Journey” and “Flower Girl”. (Published by Century Songs Corp.) "Flower Girl" was featured on a Yugoslavian TV special.

Her first solo classical album called "Sweet Dreams" was released in 2006. In 2008, "Christmas Hymns" arranged for guitar, flute, voice and piano and "Christmas Harp", arranged for solo harp, were released. Each of her Christmas albums are featured throughout the holiday season on CBC's Galaxie network.

To commemorate the launch of a new line from Fisher~Price in 2009 called "Precious Planet™," Chemayne's latest self-produced album entitled, "Nighty Night, World," a collection of lullabies from around the world arranged for piano, flute, guitar, nature sounds and keyboards is now available worldwide.

Look for her new Solitudes album entitled "Gentle Harp" Spring 2010.

In addition to recording, arranging and composing, Chemayne models and has appeared in such movies as "Blown Away" and "Dirty Works". She is a member of: Socan, Ascap, CARAS, NARAS, and ACTRA.
