Born in Mentor, Ohio, Steve Mazzaro moved out to Los Angeles at the age of 18 to pursue a career in film scoring. Steve spent the next few years scoring various video games and films, while also collaborating with London-based Silva Screen Productions in their film music division. It was these works for the U.K. production company that gained Steve the attention of Oscar Award Winning composer Hans Zimmer. As soon as Hans heard Steve Mazzaro’s work, he called Steve and offered him a writing position at Hans’ Santa Monica based Remote Control Productions.

In the nearly six years since Steve began working with Hans Zimmer, Steve has been given title credits on Boss Baby, Bullet to the Head and The Amazing Spider-Man 2. The Amazing Spider-Man 2 score originated with jam sessions where Steve wrote alongside Hans Zimmer, Pharrell Williams, Johnny Marr and Mike Einziger of “Incubus.”

Steve’s collaborations with Hans Zimmer include Batman vs. Superman, Interstellar, Man of Steel, Inferno and Chappie among other projects. Steve has also collaborated with other film composers such as Lorne Balfe on 13 Hours and the Assassin’s Creed series, Geoff Zanelli on Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, and Rupert Gregson-Williams on the Oscar Nominated Film, Hacksaw Ridge.

In early 2016, Steve joined “Hans Zimmer Live,” Hans’ first film music tour, playing 38 cities in Europe, in arena-sized venues. Steve worked closely with Hans to help produce and arrange the music for the live show, while also playing guitar and keyboards onstage. In 2017, Steve will again join Hans Zimmer onstage, this time for Hans’ first world tour.
