Ginger tunes are a funky liverpool based quartet lead by saxophonist Mike Smith.

Musically promiscuous and proudly Ginger, the band specialise in all things groovy with their roots firmly embedded in the jazz tradition, but with a scouse twist.

Having started to play at the age of 12 so that he could escape Maths lessons on a Tuesday, Mike graduated from LIPA and went on to form his quartet in 2009 and they have being playing together in jazz clubs and festivals ever since.

A 'polychromatic bonfire' of tastes and influences, GTQ are know for their live work at festivals and jazz clubs across the UK.Most recently Mike was asked to head up the international brand CREAM as their sax/keys player for the CREAM CLASSICS show, alongside K-Klass and the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra.
