Kristin Asbjornsen (born 12 May 1971 ) is a Norwegian singer and composer with improvised music (an extension of the jazz -term) as the center of gravity.

Kristin Asbjørnsen style has roots in the " singer / songwriter 'tradition and let the elements of African world music , spirituals and jazz to flow into the music. She has a voice with an exceptionally wide sound spectrum that makes it possible to perform vocal music with a particular dynamic, contrast and power.

She is a member of the groups Dadafon and Krøyt . She was also in the White Court , which was dissolved in 2001 . In 2000 she received Gammleng Award in the category jazz. For the album The Night Shines Like the Day she received the Norwegian Grammy Award 2009 in the open class.
