The German tenor, Volker Arndt, was a member of the Thomanerchor Leipzig from 1976 to 1984. In 1986 he started his studies at the TU Leipzig1 (or Dresden2), and in 1991 finished with diploma of electrical engineer. From 1991 to 1995 he worked as research engineer at PTB Braunschweig (Brunswick). Since 1997 he is a member of the RIAS-Kammerchor.

During his engineering studies, Volker Arndt took singing lessons, gained solo and choral experience in Leipziger Vokalensemble under the direction of today's Thomaskantor Georg Christoph Biller, later sang solo and in various ensembles and continued studying, most recently with Christiane Junghanns (Dresden) and Scot Weir (Berlin). In 1997, he finally left the engineering profession and is now a member of the RIAS-Kammerchor in Berlin.

Volker Arndt worked together with the Kammerchor Stuttgart under Frieder Bernius, was a regular guest in the ars-nova-Ensemble Berlin, dedicated to the entertainment but also as a guest at the "Sweetheart Sharks" or as a founding member of the Comedian Harmonists "Melodie Masters ". In addition to a wide range of ensemble activity (sometimes as counter-tenor) from the Middle Ages (including as a guest in the Gesualdo Consort Amsterdam under Harry van der Kamp) to modern, he has been a sought-after tenor soloist in cantatas and oratorios performances.
