Alejandro Fernández (pronounced [aleˈxandro feɾˈnandes]) (born April 24, 1971) is a Mexican singer. Nicknamed as "El Potrillo" (The Colt) by the media and his fans,[1] he has sold over 20 million albums worldwide.[2] Alejandro is the son of the ranchera singer Vicente Fernández.[3] He originally specialized in traditional, earthy forms of Mexican folk music, such as mariachi and ranchera. However, his more recent work has focused on mainstream pop music.
