Literally days after releasing the two-minute snippet of his autobiographical tune “Benediction,” August Alsina premieres the full version of the Rick Ross assisted track. Holding back no punches on the Eric Hudson-produced cut, the New Orleans native comes clean about the trials and tribulations he endured throughout his 21 years on earth.He sings, ”Started off in the streets/we would take collection from the fiends/people dying all around me, so I gave you my testimony/we were down from the beginning, when the world wasn’t listening/now that I got your attention/let us end with the benediction.” He also pays tribute to his older brother who was murdered in 2010.The telling track serves as the second single to Alsina’s debut album “Testimony,” which is set to arrive on April 15. The 13-track set will feature guest appearances from the hottest in today’s hip-hop music such as Jeezy, Pusha T, Fabolous and Rick Ross. His buzz single and smash hit “I Luv This Sh*t” featuring Trinidad Jame$ will serve as a bonus track along with “Numb” with B.o.B. and Yo Gotti.His first single “Make It Home” featuring Jezzy stands at No. 45 after only a week on the Urban radio chart.
