Anthony Hamilton (born January 28, 1971, Charlotte, North Carolina) is an R&B & soul music singer and songwriter who rose to fame with his 2003 second album CominFrom Where I m From, which featured the singles "Cominfrom Where I m From," "Charlene," and "I m a Mess."Hamilton first discovered his talent while singing in his church choir at age 10. In 1993 he left Charlotte for New York City, where he signed with Andre Harrell s Uptown Records. He was first introduced to mainstream audiences with his singing of the chorus on the Nappy Roots song "PoFolks," which earned a Grammy nomination for Best Rap/Sung Collaboration in 2003. He is also featured in the Jadakiss single "Why", and two Tupac song s "Thugz Mansion". and "Dear Mamma Remix" Hamilton s album Soulife was released in June of 2005 by Rhino Records.
