Paolo Nutini has announced the release date of his third album, Caustic Love.The new studio record is out on 14 April and is the follow-up to 2009's Sunny Side Up, which sold nearly two million copies in the UK.The Paisley singer-songwriter, 27, debuted his new single Scream (Funk My Life Up) on Zane Lowe's Radio 1 evening show on Monday."It felt like I had to put it together at some point. Over the last year it's all formed up," said Nutini."We spent some time in Glasgow in this old police training building."We set up and recorded drums in old shooting ranges. We went to LA for a little bit. We spent a lot of time in Spain."Nutini first revealed the name of his new album on his Facebook page just before Christmas and says he thought about calling it Numpty.The star says he had a busy 2013 after taking some time out."I've been back home, hanging out with my friends, catching up with my youth a little bit," he said."I've always got a notepad on, or a voice recorder recording ideas. I've been practising. [It takes a little while for] my ambition to catch up with my ability."You've got so many musicians out there, I just want to find my space again."Nutini sang at the Olympics opening ceremony concert in Hyde Park in 2012 and sang live before last year's G8 summit in London.He says he's going to do a couple of shows next month before going out on the road in support of the new album later in the year.Nutini says other than writing and performing on stage, he's been playing around with a few different sounds."I write on the acoustic guitar, I write some on the piano but I've been messing around with these guitar pedals and drum machines, educating myself in that world."
